Look at the river made of time and water and remember that time is another river,

knowing that we get lost like the river

and that faces pass like water.

Jorge Luis Borges

On October 16th , MA-EC Gallery opens its exhibition season with Jorge Cavelier 's solo show, Il canto dell'acqua (The Song of Water ), curated by Elisabetta Roncati . Eight years after the solo show curated by Luca Beatrice, the great Colombian artist returns to Milan to exhibit at the MA-EC Gallery.

This is a major exhibition that includes oils, watercolors, and silverpoint drawings, many of which were created specifically for this exhibition and are emblematic of his vast output and his rare and refined technical mastery.

"Jorge Cavelier's work," writes Roncati, "is born from a profound and almost visceral connection with nature, experienced not as a simple external setting, but as a living presence that speaks, welcomes, and reflects our own inner selves. In his paintings, the landscape doesn't simply describe, but becomes experience: a space that suspends time and invites the gaze to slow down, to abandon itself to silent, almost Zen-like contemplation. The forests and hints of water that populate the canvases are never boundaries to be observed from a distance, but breathing organisms in which the viewer can lose themselves and, by losing themselves, rediscover their own essence: a poetic and powerful invitation to rediscover the intimate connection between our existence and the world around us. His works are landscapes and at the same time they are not: they are mental spaces, emotional refuges, places where each viewer can recognize their own inner voice. Looking at the forests, lakes, and rivers, we don't simply observe nature, but we listen to its song: a melody that reminds us how much we are part of it.”

The artist will be present at the inauguration.
