MA-EC Gallery will be participating in ArtVerona 2025, which will take place from October 10th to 12th.
MA-EC will be present in the MAIN SECTION of the fair, Pavilion 11, Booth A7 .
ArtVerona , now in its 20th edition, celebrates twenty years of growth as an event dedicated to the fruitful dialogue between art, culture, and the local area. With 143 exhibitors , the fair strengthens its role in the modern and contemporary art system in Italy, placing the themes of Conversation and Writing at its core as a curatorial approach and guiding thread. Under the new artistic direction of Laura Lamonea , ArtVerona presents itself as an entity that strengthens the relationship between the fair and the city, creating connections between galleries, artists, collectors, and major institutions.
MA-EC Gallery presents an exhibition project that brings together Horst Beyer and Xunmu Wu, artists united by a skillful use of color and light.
Horst Beyer makes pictorial use of electrical wires. As critic Daniela Pronestì states, it's about revealing the wires' implicit potential, enhancing their chromatic and luminous qualities as one would with a painting.
Through complex and material abstract painting, Xunmu Wu evokes heaven and earth, legends, and apocalyptic phantasmagoria. As Claudio Rocca writes, his works dynamically display areas of varying density, rhythm, and sonority, like a musical score. Through the use of brushstrokes, he achieves a multidimensional effect, cool colors contrasting with yellow, red, and white, giving the work a sense of movement and tension.
Born in Deggendorf, Horst Beyer lives and works in Tuscany. Since 2010, he has exhibited his work in solo and group shows in Italy, Germany, Monaco, Spain, Slovenia, and China. Some of his works were featured at the PRESENT ART FESTIVAL SHANGHAI in China in 2013 and 2014. Among his most recent exhibitions, in 2025 he participated in the exhibition A GREENHOUSE AFFAIR (two-person show) at Kosum163 Gallery in Munich and at the CREMONA ART FAIR. Also in 2025 he held a solo exhibition at the MA-EC Gallery in Milan, entitled VERTIGO, curated by Roberta Bani. In 2024, some of his works were selected for #ARTSFORSUSTAINABILITY, Florence, THE WAY YOU LOOK, Pietrasanta, IL FILO DI TURANDOT, Turin, and THE OTHERS ART FAIR, Turin. In 2023 he participated in the 2nd BIENNALE MUSEO SCALVINI in Desio. In 2021 he was present at the art fair ART PARMA FAIR and the 9th BIENNALE DI MONTECARLO. His works are part of important private collections.
Xunmu Wu was born in Shanghai in 1947. He lived in the Gobi Desert for 17 years and
in the hinterland of the Tianshan Mountains, and this experience has had a great influence on his art. He currently lives and works in Shanghai. Among his most recent exhibitions: 2024 Eco dei monti, curated by Claudio Rocca, Accademia delle arti del Disegno, Florence; 2024 The way you look, curated by Daniela Pronestì, Pietrasanta; 2024 #ARTFORSUSTAINABILITY, curated by Daniela Pronestì, Florence. Winner of the Silver Fiorino at the 2022 Florence Prize.
