The meaning of two
Personal exhibition of Cristiano Plicato
edited by Chiara Canali
Opening: Wednesday 6 December at 6.00 pm
Colors appear to us as signs of universal significance. They lead us
to the Platonic notion of ideas (images) or archetypes, on which the school
by CG Jung founded a whole new science of the Soul.
Rene Lucien Rousseau, 1959
The solo exhibition Il senso del due by Cristiano Plicato , curated by Chiara Canali , opens at the MA-EC Gallery on Wednesday 6 December .
In the prestigious halls of Palazzo Durini, over 30 oils by the master Plicato, some of large dimensions.
As Chiara Canali, curator of the exhibition, states, Plicato's painting, like his existence, does not stop at the edges of being, but enters the heart of life, for that unstoppable desire to be at the center of things, to be inside the color that has itself become a sign and gesture.
Nature – with the bright greens of the landscapes, the dazzling oranges of the sunsets, the pale ochres of the lands, the dense greys of the fogs, the enveloping blacks of the nocturnal scenes – is nothing more than a pretext to manifest the exuberance of its presence, which allows it to be the place of manifestation and occurrence of its destiny.
The exhibition itinerary that winds through the three rooms of the Milanese gallery will allow the visitor to appreciate a selection of the vast artistic production of the master Plicato, with works ranging from the 1990s to 2020. An unmissable opportunity to immerse yourself in magnificent canvases created by a descendant of the "last naturalists", as Cristiano Plicato is defined in the critical essay by Chiara Canali.
A catalogue has been published for the exhibition, including texts by Chiara Canali, Renata Ghiazza, Flaminio Gualdoni, Giorgio Seveso, Alberto Veca and an accurate biographical text by Fabiola Giancotti.
The exhibition, with free admission, will be open until January 16, 2024.
