INTO THE DEEP

Solo exhibition by Alessandro Puccia

edited by Yinghao Kou and Giulia Pozzi

Opening: Wednesday 21 May 2025 at 19.00

Wednesday 21st May opens at MA-EC Gallery Into the deep , the solo exhibition by Alessandro Puccia curated by Yinghao Kou and Giulia Pozzi .

The exhibition, organized in collaboration with Techne Art Service , will be set up in the third room of the gallery and will display a selection of the artist's most recent works.

Alessandro Puccia - writes Giulia Pozzi - collects drops of water from rivers, lakes, seas and springs. He freezes them and, in the few moments in which the crystals can be observed before melting, he photographs them through the microscope trying to capture with his shots the deepest message of the water. Each image is born from a living element, in constant transformation, and becomes the reflection of the emotional vibrations with which the artist has entered into resonance. His works are presented as luminous, abstract and fluid compositions, in which the shape of each crystal tells an unrepeatable emotion. Water, for Puccia, is not just a simple liquid, but a vital gift, bearer of well-being, regeneration and memory. It is a medium capable of deeply connecting and dialoguing with the most intimate spheres of the human being.

His shots, often slightly out of focus, testify to the ephemeral and vibrant nature of matter: just like water and human thought, art, if stiffened, loses its essence. In this tension between transformation and instant, the artist returns a fragile beauty to be observed with respect and protected, for himself and for future generations”.

Yinghao Kou writes : “In the world of art, rich in infinite possibilities, Alessandro Puccia, through the unique perspective offered by the microscope lens, engraves profound reflections on existence and the flow of time in the tiny dimensions of the liquid, opening up a new perceptive dimension for the viewer in which the microscopic becomes immense. The Chinese philosopher Laozi stated: 《The highest virtue is similar to water: water benefits all things without competing with them.》Water, docile but powerful, adapts to every form without losing its essence, enclosing within itself an endless strength and wisdom.

In Puccia's works, the infinite metamorphosis of water drops observed under a microscope recalls the Taoist concepts of transformation and connection. Water, although devoid of its own form, can assume infinite ones: under the lens, its variations reveal all the wonder of nature. As Laozi suggested, what appears fragile often contains a tenacious resistance and a profound capacity for acceptance.”

Alessandro Puccia , born in Varese in 1990, he is an artist specialized in photography. His research is inspired by the concepts of the “memory of water” and its ability to connect with the inner and spiritual world, theories started in the 2000s by the Japanese scholar Masaru Emoto. His works have been presented in several exhibitions, including "Il Dono dell'Acqua" at the Eremo di Santa Caterina del Sasso, "Nell'acqua ti ritrovi e ti rinnovi" in Albenga and "Riflessi" in Sesto Calende, the latter held on the occasion of World Water Day 2024. He currently lives and works in Varese.
