MA-EC Gallery is pleased to announce its participation in the 13th edition of West Bund Art & Design , the prestigious fair in Shanghai, with five artists from Italy, China and the United States.
The exhibition project sees the works of Andrea Crespi, Dong Ruan, Federico Uribe, Marcello Vigoni and Qian Wu in dialogue.
Marcello Vigoni's video Rational Absurd will be screened in the GATE M Dream Center -M Factory, an area dedicated to Video Art.
Founded in Shanghai in 2014, West Bund Art & Design is one of China's leading art fairs. Featuring hundreds of leading galleries and institutions from around the world, the fair has created a dynamic international platform showcasing diverse artistic expressions, drawing on Eastern and Western perspectives and bridging generations. Each November, West Bund Art & Design establishes Shanghai as a must-see destination on the global art calendar.
Important international galleries are participating in the fair, including Perrotin, Massimo De Carlo, Galleria Continua, Hauser & Wirth, White Cube, to name just a few.
The 2025 edition, with its 26,000 square meters of exhibition space and 5 venues, hosted nearly 200 international galleries, many from Europe and America.
West Bund Art & Design represents China's rapid transformation into one of the most powerful forces in the global art market. Shanghai isn't emerging—it's established, strategic, and influential. The fair reflects this shift, bringing together global galleries within a market that continues to grow in size and sophistication.
Andrea Crespi is an Italian artist whose work develops through an ongoing investigation of diverse media and themes, including optical illusion, social transformation, and the digital revolution. Crespi's research identifies art as a tool for perceiving and analyzing truth, often manifesting itself in intimate and personal representations of beauty. He is an artist who fully reflects our times, employing media ranging from the physical to the digital with a unique and recognizable stylistic signature.
He recently completed a major solo exhibition at the Fabbrica del Vapore Museum, in collaboration with the City of Milan, and was among the artists selected for the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia 2026, as part of the Official Collateral Event As Above, So Below. His works have been exhibited in prestigious museums and institutions, including the Milan Triennale, the CAFA Art Museum in Beijing, Times Square in New York, and Art Dubai. At the ArtVerona 2026 fair, he presented the project HINC ET NUNC, curated by Alisia Viola, with MA-EC Gallery. In September, the City of Massa commissioned a large mural from him.
Dong Ruan is a contemporary artist and photographer who lives and works between China and France. He graduated from the École Internationale de Photographie de Paris (SPEOS) and holds a Master's degree in European Photography. He is currently a member of the National Association of French Artists and the board member and artistic director of the Sino-French Art Exchange Association.
He has exhibited in Europe and around the world, and has participated in events such as the Louvre Contemporary Art Fair in Paris, the Shanghai International Art Fair, the Tokyo International Art Fair, the Rome International Art Fair, and World Art Dubai. In 2024, he was invited to participate in collateral art projects during the Venice Biennale; his photographic work, Stone, was selected for the exhibition project at the 159th Salon de Paris. His work has also received numerous awards, including the Best Photography Award at the London Contemporary Art Fair, the Sino-Japanese Art Award, the Award of Excellence at the German International Photography Project, and, in 2023, the Silver Fiorino for the photography section at the 40th edition of the prestigious Premio Firenze.
Federico Uribe , born in Colombia, currently lives and works in Miami. His artworks arise from the interweaving of everyday objects in surprising ways that maintain a formal reference to art history. Unusual tools for a new aesthetic, full of color, irony, and lively playfulness.
His works are in the public collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Montclair Art Museum, the Vero Beach Museum, and the Bass Museum, among others. Over the past decade, he has held solo exhibitions in the US and Europe, and was featured at the 2019 Venice Biennale. Awards include the NYF International Advertising Awards – Silver & Bronze medals and the Miami-Dade Department of Cultural Affairs.
Marcello Vigoni was born in 1979 in Milan, where he lives and works.
His artistic career began in the world of advertising and graphic design, then continued on two parallel tracks: on the one hand, the world of communications (which led him in 2006 to found the TLS agency, with which he created national and international advertising campaigns, and to the conception and execution of events as Art Director); on the other, that of photography, understood not only as technical experimentation, but rather as a constant search for expression.
Photography – preferred in its analog black and white form – is in fact used by the artist not so much to reproduce reality, but to investigate it beyond the boundaries of the “visible”, revealing a world that seems to spring directly from his mind.
Among the most recent exhibitions, 2026 Persistere – Is the body a flower? – Black Light Gallery – Padua, 2025 Egosistemi curated by Elisabetta Bacchin – MA-EC Gallery – Milan, 2023 Multiverso, curated by Roberto Mutti – Festival dei Due Mondi – Casa Museo Menotti – Spoleto (PG), 2022 Multiverso Laura Tartarelli Contemporary Art – Pietrasanta.
Qian Wu, born in 1991, was born in Xiamen.
In 2014, he graduated from New York University and completed a master's degree at Columbia University in 2016. Among his major awards are: 2025, Forbes China "100 Returnee Elites", 2024, the Annual Emerging Artist of the "BBART AWARDS", 2023, Fiorino d'oro Premio Firenze, and 2023, the 17th Arte Laguna Prize-Emerging Artists Award. In 2022, he was listed among the Forbes China Global 100 Outstanding Chinese. He has held numerous solo and group exhibitions, both in China and Europe.
In 2024 with MA-EC Gallery he exhibited at THE OTHERS ART FAIR in Turin.
His works are part of important public collections, China Art Palace (Shanghai Art Museum), Guan Shanyue Art Museum, Chengdu Art Museum, Tianjin Art Museum, Wuhan Art Museum, Powerlong Art Museum, Yanhuang Art Museum, Suining Art Museum.
